Access Codes

Access codes allow your customers to unlock tickets on the general ticket page

Different from a presale, an access code allows you to have tickets hidden behind a code on the public ticket page. You can also use the code to function as a presale, and have tickets available before or during general onsale. The code functions as a presale ticket that is accessible through the main ticket link.

Note: Please contact clientsupport@venuepilot.co to have the access feature turned on for your organization

Setting up the Access Code

After the function is turned on for your org, create a presale as you normally would. Apply the ticket you created for the access code to the presale, but leave the "online" box unchecked:

Note: If the ticket will become a general onsale ticket at some point, "Online" can be checked off with a future onsale date; the ticket will still be hidden under the access code until that date

Using the Access Code as a Presale

If access code tickets are available before general onsale tickets (as a presale), they will show up on the main ticketing page as:

Using the Access Code as a Hidden Ticket

If access code tickets are available at the same time as general onsale tickets, they will show up on the ticketing page as:

The customer can enter the password and click on "Apply" which unlocks the ticket:

When would I use an access code instead of a presale?

It's better to use an access code rather than a presale if you:

- Want to use only one ticket link

- Have hidden tickets for select members of your organization

It's better to use a presale link if you want to track the tickets sold through specific links.
